Can it be repaired? Start with assessment
Valves, sensors, pumps, fan motors, thermostats and control boards may be serviceable or replaceable, depending on the machine. Whether work is feasible or worthwhile depends on the actual fault, condition and parts availability. We do not claim most failures are repairable or apply a fixed replacement threshold.
Troubleshooting before a visit
Keep checks external and accessible: observe power and operating-mode indicators against the manual, check an accessible water valve and filter-change record, clear exterior ventilation obstructions and observe bin fullness. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker, bypass controls, reach into moving mechanisms or open internal electrical/refrigerant panels. Note visible error codes and call with the brand, model and serial number from a safely accessible plate.
- Power and mode: observe externally accessible indicators and the manual's operating mode.
- Water: check an accessible valve and the recorded filter date; do not assume small cubes prove a particular fault.
- Air: keep manufacturer-required ventilation space free of boxes and other exterior obstructions.
- Bin: observe whether it is full; do not reach into a mechanism or bypass a sensor.

For repairs, request a written repair quote before work. Repair work carries a 90-day warranty. Rental repair parts and labor are included. The written quote establishes scope and terms; no fixed component price, parts-at-cost arrangement or automatic free-return promise applies.
We repair Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman and Ice-O-Matic commercial ice machines, including machines we did not install.
Machines bought from a restaurant supplier or installed by a franchise builder can be assessed too; existing lease and manufacturer-warranty terms should be checked first.
Newer machine, still under warranty?
Read the manufacturer paperwork and contact the manufacturer to confirm its servicing and coverage requirements before authorizing work. Crystal Ice does not claim authorized manufacturer-warranty-provider status. Discuss assessment and quotes for work outside coverage.
