Ice Machine Cleaning in Oldsmar, FL

Our five-step clean

1. Descale. We dissolve the white mineral crust that hard Florida water leaves on the evaporator and water lines, so the machine freezes evenly and makes full, clear cubes again.
2. Sanitize. Every part that touches water or ice gets a food-safe sanitizer: the water trough, distributor, curtains, tubing and evaporator.
3. Clean the bin. We empty the storage bin and scrub it out, including the door, the seals and the corners where slime collects.
4. Clear the drain. We flush the drain line and check that it flows, because a slow drain is where standing water and smells start.
5. Check the water filter. We look at the filter and tell you whether it needs replacing. Filter replacement is extra if needed.

Why it matters: mold, slime and bacteria

An ice machine is cold, wet and dark inside, which is exactly where mold, slime and bacteria grow. You usually can't see it from the front. It builds up on the evaporator, curtain and bin, and it ends up in the ice you serve. Ice counts as food, so health inspectors check the machine, and a dirty one can turn into a violation.

How often: twice a year

We recommend a professional cleaning twice a year. Machines in busy kitchens, warm rooms or on hard water may need it sooner; follow the manufacturer's instructions as well.

Price: $350 per visit

A standalone cleaning is $350 per visit. Filter replacement is extra if needed. If you lease from Crystal Ice, cleanings are included.

We also repair and rent ice machines
