Commercial Ice Machine Cleaning in Tampa Bay
Crystal Ice cleans commercial ice machines for restaurants, bars, hotels, healthcare sites and offices across Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties. Local since 1992, serving 500+ restaurants in the Tampa area.
Our cleaning process
- Descale. We dissolve the white mineral crust that hard Florida water leaves on the evaporator and water lines, so the machine freezes evenly and makes full, clear cubes again.
- Sanitize. Every part that touches water or ice gets a food-safe sanitizer: the water trough, distributor, curtains, tubing and evaporator.
- Clean the bin. We empty the storage bin and scrub it out, including the door, the seals and the corners where slime collects.
- Clear the drain. We flush the drain line and check that it flows, because a slow drain is where standing water and smells start.
- Check the water filter. We look at the filter and tell you whether it needs replacing. Filter replacement is extra if needed.
- Clean the condenser. We clean the condenser coils so the machine isn't working harder than it needs to in Florida heat.
Why it matters
Inside, an ice machine is cold, wet and dark. Mold, slime and bacteria grow there out of sight and end up in the ice. Ice is food, so health inspectors check machines, and buildup can become a violation, a bad taste or a customer complaint. Scale also makes the machine work harder and break down sooner.
Recommended schedule
Twice a year for most businesses (approved by Jack 10/23). Busier kitchens, warm rooms or hard water may need more; follow the manufacturer's instructions as well.
Price
$350 per visit for a standalone cleaning (from our services page). Filter replacement is extra if needed. Included in every lease plan.
Warranty
[confirm: the 90-day warranty is listed for repair work. Does it also apply to cleanings? Leave this out until Jack says yes.]
